Government approves amendment to the Operational Programme 2014–2020

Ljubljana, 22 June 2018 – Slovenian Government approved the amendment to the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy in the Period 2014-2020 (OP) at its 251st correspondence session, and called on the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy (GODC) to modify the document by incorporating the necessary technical adjustments and submit it to the European Commission for approval.
Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy which acts as Managing Authority was asked to propose the amendments to the OP text by 30 June in line with the EU regulations which allow for one technical modification annually when such amendments are required as a result of failure to achieve performance framework indicators or incorrect assumptions leading to under- or over-estimation of targets or milestones (e.g. due to a significant change in socioeconomic conditions, application of a different methodology). An overview of system-level factors which cause the implementation to fall behind the schedule and, consequently, push back the 2018 milestones, while the set target values generally remain unchanged, was also made with a view to avoiding the negative effects of potential reallocation of performance reserve on the (non)-achievement of the final target values.
Following a thorough review, the Managing Authority drew up a list of proposed amendments to the document by setting new milestone values and/or target values of the indicators for the performance framework of individual priority axes (1, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 11).
