EU funding to improve skills demand and labour market forecasting

Ljubljana, 4 September – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued grant decision for the project Putting in place a system for monitoring the progress of career development of graduates in Slovenia and modernisation of eVŠ. The project is set to receive EUR 500,000, of which EUR 400,000 will come from the European Social Fund.

The projects seeks to put in place a system that will track graduates and monitor employment outcomes of graduates and their career development; its results will represents the basis for anticipating skills and making labour market forecasts. The information and results of the system will widely be used by higher education policy makers and higher education institutions to support them in their self-evaluation process and monitoring of education quality.

Higher education graduate employability is currently monitored by different institutions, but there is no comprehensive and coordinated system in place. The project Putting in place a system for monitoring the progress of career development of graduates in Slovenia and modernisation of eVŠ will have an analytical module developed providing capture and processing of data to support the analysis of the employability of students and graduates in accordance with a consistent methodology. The new analytical module will enable insight into already prepared analyses and development of reports per selected categories (including, inter alia, analysis of pupils’ and students’ success rates). Key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and higher education institutions will be able to use the analytical module.
